Grad Speech Criteria 2026

Seniors,

We are planning our 2026 Graduation ceremonies. We would like to invite any Senior wanting to make a speech during the graduation ceremony to tryout. Below is the information about the speeches and dates for speech submission and the tryouts.

Speeches

  1. Graduation Welcome address Speech. Speaker will welcome the community of Casa Roble to the ceremony celebrating the graduating class. This speech sets the tone for this formal event and recognizes this event as a milestone in our lives.
  2. Student address speech. Senior will address the graduating class with stories and tales that are particular and most memorable to the lives and experiences of the class. It a generally fun and touching message.
  3. Closing speech. Speaker reminds of the growth and guides the listener to a message about the future and its possibilities. This speech will close with a preset remarks on the changing of the tassel.
  • Speech should NOT exceed 4 minutes
  • A Typed speech (via Google docs) and an email notification must be submitted on May 8, 2026 by 3:45pm to VP office (PClemmer@sanjuan.edu).
  • Speech tryout in front of committee will be on May 21st at 2:45pm in Student Union Library
  • Make sure you practice with an emphasis on eye contact.
