College Application Information

·         Stay on top of the college application process! Refer to the BLUE College Planning calendar that was handed out during Senior Forum.

·         Students applying to private schools via the common application should make an appointment with their counselor to discuss the process. Letters of recommendation and additional information are required.

 ·         The Student Information Sheet for Letter of Recommendation from your Counselor is available in the counseling office. Please plan ahead and give your counselor at least 2 weeks to prepare your letter.


 CSU Application Deadlines Extended!

·         Many CSU campuses have extended their application deadline. Go to to see which CSU campuses are still accepting applications.


Financial Aid

·         The FREE application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is open. Apply by April 2, 2024, to also be considered for Cal Grant funds. Go to to apply.



  • GFWC ORANGEVALE WOMEN’S CLUB is offering two $2,000 College scholarships in 2024.  In addition, for the first time they are also offering one $2,000 scholarship to an accredited Trade School.  Applicants must be a graduating senior who resides in or attends High School in Orangevale, CA. Male and female students can apply. Applications are available in the counseling office, the deadline to apply is March 29th.


  • THE GREGORY KENNETH SHERRILL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP is being offered to seniors who will be attending college in the Fall and have an overall GPA of 3.0 within the last 2 years. Scholarships range from $2,000 to $4,000. Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline to apply is April 1st.


  • LAIRD SMITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP, Sponsored by the Orangevale Rotary Club

Are you a senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher? Have you had a significant impact on your community through Community Service? If so, you may apply for this $1,000 scholarship. Applications are due April 5th.


  • ORANGEVALE ROTARY CLUB CTE SCHOLARSHIPS are available to Senior CTE students with a 2.0 or higher GPA. A letter of recommendation is required. The deadline for this $500 scholarship is April 5th, stop by the counseling office for more information.


  • THE RAM BOOSTERS SCHOLARSHIP is now available! ANY student participating in a Casa extracurricular activity with a minimum 3.0 GPA is eligible to apply. Parents or applicant must have been a Ram Boosters member for at least 2 years. Come by the counseling office for an application. The deadline to apply is April 5th.


  • THE WOMEN’S THURSDAY CLUB OF FAIR OAKS scholarships are available to senior students who possess academic potential, and the desire to continue his/her education beyond high school. Both boys and girls are eligible to apply. Each scholarship will be in the amount of $1,200. Community college, four-year college, university, and accredited vocational school bound seniors should apply! Submit application here. The submission deadline is April 8th by 5pm.


  • ORANGEVALE GRANGE #354 will be offering $500 scholarships to graduating seniors with a GPA of 2.5 or above. This scholarship is for College or Trade School bound seniors. Deadline to apply is April 10th.  Applications are available in the counseling office.

Awards range from $500 to $1,000. Deadline April 12, 2024.



The next SAT will be given on May 4th - deadline to register is April 19th
